2016 State Land Judging Contest - Suwannee County

Date:Friday March 25, 2016 (yes, this IS on Good Friday. The date was NOT moved)
Time:Registration 8-9 am. Announcements start at 9 am
Location:Sheriffs Boys Ranch (Suwannee County, north of Live Oak, FL). The entrance is here (30.407468, -83.013722). IMPORTANT: Entering the property prior to the morning of 03/25/2016 will be considered trespassing. DO NOT ENTER until contest morning.
Hotel:There are a few hotels between Live Oak and I10. Those would be the closest to the contest site. Lake City will have more choices of hotels/food and is about 15-20 min east.
Registration:

Email Greg Means with:
- County: You must have placed first in your division for your county
- Division: 4-H Middle, 4-H High, FFA-Middle, or FFA-High
- Team Name: Your FFA Chapter or 4-H Club
- Coach Name
- you don't need student names for pre-reg. You'll give those to FFA contest morning.

Please review this page to determine if you are eligible to compete at the state contest. In general, you must have won your county Land Judging contest. If you are in a low participation county, be sure to read that section also. Finally, ensure that you have satisfied all FFA or 4-H rules of eligibility prior to registration.

Electronic Devices
All electronic devices (phones, calculators, smartwatches, tablets) are forbidden during contest: policy - other.

County Soil Survey
If you don't have a paper copy of the soil survey, you can download one from the NRCS. I did that already posted them on the training page: 1965 version (95 mb) | 2006 version (42 mb). Save and extract to your computer and you'll be able to view the contents without an internet connection.
