Field 4 (Homesite) - Satellite
Field 4 was located on a somewhat poorly drained flatwoods/sandhill transition. The predominant ground cover was upland scrub with occasional facultative wet vegetation. The soil series is Satellite.
Some important soil characteristics:
- Topsoil: 8 in thick, sandy texture, low OM content
- Depth to seasonal high water table: 22 in (stripping)
- No diagnostic subsurface horizons
- Subsoil: sandy
- Soil permeability: rapid
