Intro to Land Judging

Land Judging is a contest in which students assess land conditions by observing land slopes and soil morphologies. The information gathered by the student is combined with information given on a conditions poster and together, those data are input into a decision making framework. That framework is outlined in the Land Judging manual, which the student memorizes. The outputs are land use recommendations. This activity has occured as a state contest for over 50 years.
