Field 3 - Pomello
Field 3 was located on a somewhat poorly drained flatwoods/sandhill transition. The predominant ground cover was upland scrub with occasional facultative wet vegetation. The soil series is Pomello.
Some important soil characteristics:
- Topsoil: 6 in thick, sandy texture, low organic matter content
- Depth to seasonal high water table: approx 24 in (stripping)
- Depth to spodic horizon: 40 in
- Spodic horizon texture: sandy, weakly cemented
- Soil permeability: moderate
